Description and points of Interest:

This is a loop route through the old mining district with a return through Music Valley. This secluded valley derives its name from the frequent winds that create a strange and eerie sound. The route includes routes through narrow canyons with Pinto gneiss rocks which are among the oldest rocks in Southern California

The Gold Park Scenic Recreation Area is situated in the Pinto Mountains just southeast of the city of Twentynine Palms, Ca. There are approximately 30 miles of unimproved roads that require an off-road vehicle to traverse. Most are sandy with some rocks and a few steep side roads with loose rocks and scree. This is an historic mining area  with mining activity occurring from 1895-1905 and during the Great Depression of the 1930’s.

This event is limited to GO members.
