Description: Tamarack and Round Valleys Loop via Sid Davis
We will travel the Low trail until we reach the Sid Davis route, which is off-trail and steep. Once we reach Tamarack Valley we will use the established trail to hike to the seasonal ranger station in Round Valley, where we will sit on the scenic boulders and eat our lunch/snacks. From there we will continue through Round Valley and rejoin the Low trail for our return to the Tram.
- Trail Length: 4.5 miles
- Elevation Gain/Loss: 800'
- Difficulty Rating: Rated Moderate but the Sid Davis portion is steep and off-trail - please know your abilities and do not sign up for this hike if you aren't capable of completing it
Meeting Time/Location: Arrive at the Valley Station at 9:30 AM, in time to purchase tickets (if needed) and line up for the 10:00 AM tram (directions here). If anyone is not able to board due to crowds, make yourself known to the hike leader so the group can wait for your arrival at the Mountain Station on the second tram car of the day.

If purchasing your ticket online in advance and the 10:00 a.m. time is sold out, do not purchase a later time. Tickets will usually be available for in-person purchase when you arrive at the station. What to Bring: Ten Essentials, water (1 to 2 liters recommended), lunch/ snacks, sun protection, layered clothing; hiking poles may be helpful. Carry emergency contact information.
