OCLB Chapter of the Great Outdoors presents

Bike Ride!

Bolsa Chica State Beach to Newport Beach Pier

Saturday February 21, 2026

11:00am to 3:00pm

Bolsa Chica State Beach North Entrance

Huntington Beach

Grab and grease your ball bearings and join us for an easy bicycle tour down the coast! We will start at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve and cruise along the scenic bike path through the Bolsa Chica camping area, passing Huntington Dog Beach and the Huntington Beach Pier, to the statue of the Naked Surfer (amazingly explicit), also known as the "Nude Dude" for a quick break and pics.

Restrooms and snack bars are available along the entire route.

We'll continue our ride down to the Newport Beach Pier, ending our journey at the iconic Mutt Lynch's for lunch and beverages.

Established in 1976, Mutt Lynch's is a beloved local beachfront "dive bar" known for its laid-back open-air atmosphere and extensive menu of over 200 items, including American and Mexican favorites like their famous "fun buns," fish and chips, and the "Mutt Burrito". It is particularly famous for its signature 32oz schooners of draft beer and its unbeatable ocean and pier views from the boardwalk. Guess what-vegan and gluten-free is available!

No bike?  Or, "well, you got caught with a flat, well, how 'bout that."  Check out bike rental options at Bolsa Chica State Beach, specifically at Beach City Provisions, which is conveniently located right on the beach path and the state park lot near our meeting area. Reservations recommended.  $35 for the day.

Too far? OCTA line 1 will take you back up PCH back to the parking areas  The fare is $2 per person, which can be cash on the bus  or added on their "Wave"  app. Schedules here OCTA Line 1-PCH. Each bus features secure bike racks on the front.

Distance: Approximately 22 leisurely miles round-trip. Helmets are required. Please include eyewear, sunscreen, and adequate amounts of water or other hydration.
