Amazing Mountain, Forest, Desert, and Ocean View Pet-Friendly Hike

See it all in one 5-mile mostly flat pet-friendly loop hike.  Meet at the Lupine Campsite nestled in the 100-foot pines of the Horse Haven Campground (55 miles from Hillcrest).  Walk along the (PCT) Pacific Crest Trail to Foster Point where the land drops 5000 feet, almost straight down to the desert floor.  From there, the views are spectacular: To the East, all the amazing rock formations of the Anza Borrego and the Salton Sea.  To the West, the ocean and downtown San Diego. To the north, the high mountains of greater Los Angeles; San Jacinto and San Gorgonio.  And to the South, mountains in Mexico.  From Foster’s Point, we will walk on the PCT to the Big Laguna Trail, through verdant forests, meadows, and the shores of a peaceful lake, finally ending up back at the Lupine Group Campsite for group lunch (bring your own lunch).
