Insights from Preventative Search and Rescue

Join us for an engaging presentation that explores the compelling history of the PSAR (Preventative Search and Rescue) program, paired with practical hike safety strategies and real-life rescue experiences from our local trails.

Guest speaker Anna Marini—of Preventative Search and Rescue, Emergency Services, Joshua Tree National Park—will share how the program was built, how responders train, and what hikers can do to help prevent emergencies before they happen. Whether you're a seasoned hike leader or a curious trail enthusiast, you'll come away with valuable tips and eye-opening stories that deepen your understanding of wilderness safety.

Open to members and hike leaders—don’t miss this chance to learn, connect, and explore the smart side of outdoor adventure.

Room 3 Third Floor, The Center.  Light snacks provided.
