REI's Pride Camp Cookoff
Calling Camp Chefs and Supporters!
Event Overview: REI Burbank is proud to celebrate Pride with an evening of outdoor fun, food, and fierce competition. The main event is a “Chopped”-style camp cookout competition hosted by beloved drag queen, Meatball. Teams from LGBTQ+ organizations—including outdoor nonprofits, queer-owned bars, and local drag talent—will face off in a fast-paced culinary showdown using classic camp cooking gear. Guests are encouraged to bring their own camp chairs and enjoy the show from our outdoor lounge-style viewing area.
Event Details: Location: REI Burbank, 1900 Empire Ave, Burbank, CA 91504 Date: June 12th Time: 6:00–8:45 PM Expected Attendance: ~150 guests
What REI is Asking: REI would love for GO to be one of the teams competing in the cookoff. Three members who are up for the challenge of cooking with camp tools and bringing some creativity and fun to the competition. REI will provide the cooking supplies and ingredients—our team just needs to show up ready to cook.
The event itself is open to the public, so even if not everyone wants to compete, all GO members are welcome to attend and support.
