Get ready for a sense of adventure—you're invited to a special guided tour of the stunning and iconic Santa Barbara Courthouse with your Great Outdoor and Prime Timer friends!

Often called one of the most beautiful public buildings in the U.S. (and still a working courthouse!), this national landmark is packed with charm, history, and a few secrets hiding in plain sight.

     

We’ll kick things off in the fabulous Mural Room, where our very own freshly-minted docent, Bob Blackwell, will take us on a lively tour. You'll hear all about the courthouse's colorful past, its architectural quirks, and why it looks like a cross between a Spanish fortress and a grand Andalusian palace.

Date: Saturday, May 17, 2025

Time: Please arrive at or just before 1:30 PM to check in (there’s usually a bit of a line). The tour starts promptly at 2:00 PM.

Location: Santa Barbara Courthouse – 1100 Anacapa St., Santa Barbara
⏳ Duration: Tour lasts about 1 to 2 hours, followed by an optional wine & cheese picnic in the sunken gardens (BYOB & snacks to share)!
 
Stick around after the tour to relax in the gardens, sip some wine, nibble on cheese, and soak in the beauty of the courthouse grounds with friends old and new.
