2800 riders and crew of ALC 2025 will be riding through Santa Barbara for one last, final time. This also means that Paradise Pit, Santa Barbara will also come to life for one last, final time.
After 26 years of being an unofficial “pit stop” for the riders and crew and providing 40,000 plus servings of ice cream sundaes, all kinds of toppings from the Great Outdoors SBVC Toppings Tent, delicious, local fresh fruit, baked goods, fresh made churros and hot coffee, all for free, Paradise Pit, Santa Barbara will also be coming to an end, along with the ALC Ride.
If you have ever been involved with Paradise Pit or have been one of our volunteers, or past riders, please come out to Leadbetter Beach and celebrate with us and all the riders and crew.
Yes, this final ALC Ride and final Paradise Pit will be an emotional and somewhat melancholy day, but we also want it to be more of a celebration for everything that the riders have accomplished and the millions of dollars raised for HIV/AIDS research and support, and for Paradise Pit, Santa Barbara, for all the love and ice cream our local LGBTQ community has served up over the years.
We are located beach side this year, at Leadbetter Beach, North of the Shoreline Cafe. Please park across the street at SBCC, or Leadbetter Beach Parking.
Paradise Pit started in 1999, with Rod and friends scooping ice cream cones out the back of a car trunk and being handed of to the riders riding by here in Santa Barbara. For the past few decades, it has evolved to be the number one Pit Stop on the ride.
Paradise Pit is a Santa Barbara grown, grass roots, non ALC affiliated, all volunteer, non-profit. We are proud to be the number one rebels of the ride for all these years, and we still are!
My dear family and friends, let’s end this amazing thing that brings so much happiness to the Riders and also brings the Love Bubble to Santa Barbara, on a high note.
