PS - HIKE: HIDDEN LAKE

Hike to a seldom visited location.  A very special and unique place with one of the best views overlooking the valley and unique natural features found nowhere else in the world. Visitation to this area is restricted and permitted only with a special permit. You will learn why it is protected and how it relates to an Island in the Sky. This vernal lake is at high water level. 

  • Distance: 3 to 4 miles 
  • Total Elevation: 500'
  • Difficulty: Moderate Plus - due to ice and snow on trail
  • Minimum Elevation 8200
  • Type: Out and back loop
  • Hike time:2 – 3hours
  • Meeting location: Tram valley station
  • Departure time: 8 AM Tram 

Tickets for the Tram:  $29.95 Adult $29.95 Senior.  Annual passes available $165.00.  You can also arrive early (7 am to 7:15am) to get to the front of the ticket line and purchase ticket. $12 parking fee waived for pass holders and local residents.  Our tram departure is 8 AM. 

What to bring: 

Ten Essentials (click here), water (1 to 2 liters recommended), lunch/snacks, sun protection, layered clothing and hiking poles. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required. Hiking poles recommended due to ice and snow on the trail
