Come out and join the 2018 All Chapter Conference hosted by the San Diego Great Outdoors at Cuyamaca Rancho SP - Green Valley Campground.

This year marks the Ruby (40th) Anniversary of the Great Outdoors, for some this has been a journey for others this is new, in either case its a great way to connect with other like minded LGBT and allies.

Message from the Corporate Chair:

The Annual Conference is more than just a bunch of business meetings - it’s a full campout with planned activities for all those attending.  Check out their 40th Anniversary Theme!  Can you believe GO is 40 years old?  We will have the usual election of the following three GO Corp. Officers:

  •             GO Chair of the Board Of Directors
  •             GO Secretary
  •             GO Financial Officer

Each Chapter elects or appoints a Board Representative to represent your Chapter at all GO Corp. meetings (usually four per year).

The GO Board also consists of the following appointed committees or positions:

Archives, Awards, Bylaws, Outings, Outdoors Experience Chair (formerly known as Wilderness Ed), Webmaster & Website Consolidation

If you are interested in running for, or nominating someone, for one of the three (3) elected positions or serving on one of our Committees, please let me know. Peter Emond-Worline

We have a weekend full of fun activities planned for all participants, whether that is to reconnect with old friends or hike in a new area, we'll be offering something for everyone.

A little about Cuyamaca Rancho State Park

East of San Diego, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park offers respite from the dry Southern California landscape. The park’s 24,700 acres of oak and conifer forests and expansive meadows are broken by running streams.

Located in the Peninsular Range of mountains, Cuyamaca Peak, at 6,512 feet, is the second highest point in San Diego County. From the peak, visitors can see Anza-Borrego Desert State Park to the east and the Pacific coastline to the west. Over half of the park’s acreage is designated as state wilderness.

Our Campground

Green Valley sits at an elevation of 4,000 feet and has a creek which runs through the middle of the campground.  We have 12 campsites for sleeping and one campsite designated as our event space.

Saturday Night Event

What would a Anniversary be without a celebration, our celebration will be themed to the 1970s/80s.  So put on your bell bottoms, or dust off your parachute pants, and let's have some fun.  Prizes will be awards to the best dressed participants.

Note: GO-PS members will need to register on the hosting Chapter's website for this trip. Your registration information there will be separate from your GO-PS information. Paid members of the GO-PS Chapter do not need to pay an additional $25 for a GO membership.
