Day Hike at More Mesa

More Mesa will be beautifully green after all the rain. The hike will be mostly flat, with a few short steep drops and climbs.  It’s a mix of vegetation and terrains, so is interesting and diverse as we move through the mesa. At the end we will take an irregular staircase from the bluff down to the beach and that is a steep ascent on the way back. 

Distance:  3.5 to 4 miles           Time: 2 to 2.5 hours

Elevation gain:  very slight       Difficulty level: Easy

Meet at the east trailhead at 9:00 AM.

Directions: Hwy 101 north or south bound: take the Turnpike Avenue exit in Goleta; turn towards the ocean (onto Turnpike);  left on Hollister; right on Puente Drive, which turns into Vieja; park on Vieja, near the intersection of Vieja and Mockingbird Lane (no parking); walk to the end of Mockingbird Lane where you’ll see the trailhead.
