Dana Point Whale Watch

January 28th, 2023 (8:30am meet up for brunch, 9:15am for check in)


We are going out in search of grey whales in the height of their migration from Alaska to Baja. Dana Wharf Whale Watching goes out of Dana Point in Orange County and covers the scenic Pacific coastline in one of the most marine life dense areas on the planet. An experienced naturalist will be on-board to share their knowledge on this two-hour tour, pointing out whales and dolphins with indoor and outdoor decks and seating areas. 

Each person will be responsible to make their own reservation, and pay the tour company directly.  Space is limited to a first come first served basis, so book early. Grey whales have the longest migration of any mammal on earth up to 12,000 miles round trip! The can reach 45 ft. in length and weigh up to 40 tons, Gray Whales depart from their summer feeding grounds in Alaska and migrate south along the West Coast to the protected warm water lagoons of Baja California, Mexico to give birth and mate. The Orange County coast is home to one of the highest concentration of dolphins any place on earth including four different species- Common, Bottlenose, Risso’s, and Pacific White-sided dolphins.

  • Don’t forget to dress in layers, it may be cool on the tour.
  • Sunscreen is important even on overcast mornings!
