PS - Barton Flats Oso Group Camp

Join us for this mid-summer, 3 nights, 4 days, getaway near Big Bear Lake located in forested area with sub-alpine meadows.  Bring your tent or RV to the Oso Group Camp. Just 25 minutes from Big Bear Lake, the camp is at 6400’ elevation in the secluded Barton Flats area off of Highway 38 nestled in alpine and fir forest.

Sunday, Aug 14

• 2:00 - Check-in. No early arrivals.
• 6:00 pm - Meet and greet BYOB, bring appetizer to share. Dinner on your own
• 7:00 pm - Group campfire activities

Monday, Aug 15

• 7:00 am - Continental breakfast and coffee at camp
• 9:00 am - Big Bear Ski Lift: Ride - Dine - Hike down (1.6 mi) or Ride back
• 6:30 pm - Potluck (bring a dish to share).  
• 7:00 pm - Group Campfire

Tuesday, Aug 16

• 7:00 am - Continental breakfast and coffee at camp
• 9:00 am - Hike Jenks Lake 3.2 miles, 1100' elevation gain
• 12:00 pm - Explore nearby attractions*

Wednesday, Aug 17

11:00 am - Clean up campground areas. Check out. safe travels home.

Facilities: This group campground offers one large group campsite, available for tent and RV camping. There are no utility hookups at the site and roads, as well as the parking area, are gravel and dirt. The site is equipped with multiple tables, and campfire circle . Flush (4) toilets and drinking water are provided at the campground. Pay showers and  dump station at nearby at Barton Flats campground. Tent pads are shaded but group areas are primarily in the open. We will have a propane fire-pit for the group. No nearby bike trails.  San Bernardino National Forest information: Click here .

Bears frequent the area; carefully follow garbage disposal and food storage regulations

What to Bring: Ten Essentials, camp chair, camping/cooking gear, nametag, food, warm/cool weather clothing, potluck item.

Pets: Pets are welcomed, remember the usual - leashed and pick up and dispose of waste.

Camp Etiquette

Noise Be sure your enjoyment does not impact others. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. - 6 a.m. While some people like to stay up late, others like to get up early. Be courteous to your neighbors and observe the quiet times.

Lights Enjoy the stars and the night sky above. Consider how your lights affect others who may be trying to sleep or enjoy the darkness a campground can provide. Keep lights shielded and pointing down. You may want to turn it off completely so you can enjoy the beautiful night sky.

Personal space It's considered rude to enter or pass through another occupied campsite without the occupant's permission. Likewise, you should not set up parts of your campsite that encroach on your neighbor's site.
