IMPORTANT ITEMS for this hike: Emergency Contact Information, sun protection/hat, a light jacket, and hiking poles which may be helpful. Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water (3 liters minimum) are required. Bring lunch/snacks and of course, a wonderful attitude. Thanks. Also, pets are NOT allowed.

Details: This is an all-day vigorous adventure--for hikers who are 'physically fit.' We start out from where I live (in a large SUV--facial mask, proof of vaccination are required) to the Ranger Station (I-10 to Hwy 243 to Idyllwild).  After a permit registration, we head to the Marion Mountain TH. The pace will be slow during the ascension (some steep areas) with appropriate breaks along this challenging part of the hike. The raw wilderness within the trek is delightfully serene, and quite scenic. Deer sighting is possible.

When reaching the emergency shelter, we can scramble up to the peak or stay at the shelter (majority rules) for a long, lunch break. Then it's off trail down near Miller Peak. Continuing down on the main trail--to the Sid Davis route (some steep areas). After back on the main trail, we are quite close to the Tram.

Poor weather and/or trail conditions cancels this hike.
