This discovery hike will be an exploration beyond the normal confines of the trail on a moderately strenuous hike in the San Jacinto Wilderness. There will be some deviation from the trail to “discover” locations not typically seen by the average day hiker. We will explore Tamarack Valley, Yale Peak and Shangri-La areas.

Tickets for the Tram: $26.95 Adult $24.95 Senior. It is recommended to buy a tram ticket online in advance. Online tickets are limited. Order early! Go to pstramway.com/tickets. If online tickets are not available, many tickets are still available for walk-ins. Arrive early (9 am) if you need to purchase ticket upon arrival. $10 parking fee waived for pass holders and local residents. Our tram departure is 10 AM.
What to bring:
Ten Essentials (click here), a mask (required onboard the tram car) ,water (2-3 liters recommended), lunch/snacks, sun protection, layered clothing, hiking poles may be helpful. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required.
