Namaste in Shangri-La
Hike & Yoga in the Mt. San Jacinto Wilderness
Join us for our end of summer power hike and yoga/meditation workshop in the pristine forest of the San Jacinto Wilderness. Whereas these 2 sessions are open to all levels, from first timer to advanced, please be advised that we'll set a moderate-level hiking pace throughout the day, with few stops, particularly in the morning, as we make our way along the Round Valley Loop (3.8 miles total).
We’ll take the 10:00 am Palm Springs Tram up to the trailhead (8,500 feet elevation) and proceed at a brisk pace past Hidden Divide up to our first destination : our yoga mats in full view of the peak. Karen Salgado, one of the Desert's leading yoga instructors, will lead us through a 60 minute yoga session. Following a brief snack, we'll continue our journey back down and around Round Valley to our next destination : our Chakra cleanse and meditation workshop in the dramatic Shangri-La area. Karen will conduct this session as well. Be aware that accessing this area will require some (brief) off-trail hiking and boulder scrambling. After our meditation, we'll hang out a bit, re-group, and then make our way back to the tram for an expected departure between 2:30 - 4:00 pm.
Tickets for the Tram: $26.95 Adult $24.95 Senior. Summer and Annual passes available. Recommend purchasing online at least a day before the event as tickets sell out. If advance tickets are not available, arrive early by 9:15 to line up to purchase walk up ticket for 10 am tram. $8 parking fee waived for pass holders and local residents. Our tram departure is 10 AM. Purchase tickets here: Palm Springs Tram Tickets
