Are you interested in learning how to lead hikes and sharpen your outdoor skills? Current hike leaders and anyone interested in becoming a hike leader are welcome. We will present the complete course outline. We will discuss any issues with past hikes and plan for future hikes. We will review basic hike leader procedures and techniques and latest technology and information. A good refresher for hike leaders.
Location: Cathedral City - address will be provided with registration confirmation email.
Great Outdoors provides low-cost outdoor activities, programs, education and leadership training to its members. We also offer Outdoor Experience classes in Trip Leader Overnight Events, Backpacking and Camping.

You are encouraged to review the manual ahead of time. You will be provided a copy of the manual along with additional documents and information contained in a note binder. We plan to start at 8 am and go to 4 pm with a lunch break. Bring a lunch or $ for a pizzas we will order for delivery. Beverages provided. Bring your day pack with your 10 essentials. We will have raffles during the day for items related to hiking. Bring a swimsuit / towel for optional pool/spa time afterwards.
Completing this course will provide participants with Day Hike Leader Certification.
