ADMINISTRATION - PRESIDENT'S MESSAGES

Note: Craig Courtright was Chapter President from September 2000 until September 2003

March 2003 - I would like to thank all who attended the Coachella Valley Preserve Hike to the McCallum Grove. The Coachella Valley Preserve is open to the public and a nonprofit organization like ourselves. Previous hikes, we have dropped money in the box at the Palm Hut. We passed a hiking hat around at Tomboyz Café for donations prior to leaving for the hike. We raised $15.00. No volunteers were at the Palm Hut to accept our donation. We will mail the CVP our collection on behalf of Great Outdoors Palm Springs.

December 2002 - Thank you volunteers for making this years Pride Festival booth a great success. Don Adams, Doug Quigley, Keith Norris, Rick Opler, Roger Gray, Bill Cook, Michael Rothschild, Randolph Maxted, Chris Waasdorp, Dean Condolis, Joe Fuchs, Lew Mengle, Jim Long, Murray Spector, Dan Campbell and Danny Kucharski, myself and all others I may have missed. It was a pleasure to have several members from other chapters stop by our booth for support. Thanks again.

November 2002 - Our chapter's four delegates Doug Quigley, Chris Waasdorp, Norman Kerewsky and Craig Courtright attended the annual conference and camp out at San Clemente State Park on October 19th. It was a bit chilly but the sound of the ocean waves and the fresh ocean air made it worth while. Every year corporate gives out awards for member recognition. I received a Life Time Achievement Award that is only given out to one person a year. Our chapter received the President Award. I can truly say that it's due to our members. Phil Wright was a volunteer as Corporate Secretary. Roger Gray was reelected as Corporate Treasurer, as well as chapter treasurer. These are just a few of the examples of what makes me proud and why our chapter is looked on with integrity and purpose within the chapters of the Great Outdoors. Thank you all very much.

June 2002 - September will be our 4 year anniversary as a Great Outdoors Chapter. We've lost members and gained members. I would like to acknowledge 22 members that were instrumental in forming our chapter as an official chapter of the Great Outdoors. I would like to thank the following members who have been here since the beginning, planning and attending events, keeping our chapter exciting and active. Thanks to Joe Fuchs, Ron Qwan and Bill Shedd, Tim Carey, Jimmy Dunlap and Jim Huot, Steve Bower, Greg Loring and Fred Holbert, Roger Gray, Frank Chesek, Michael Silver and Norm Anderson. Let's give them a big thanks.

January 16, 2002 - As we start the New Year, our CORE group will continue to plan keeping our member's interests in mind. A few more events in the planning are camping trips to the Las Vegas and Temecula areas before June of this year. We always welcome and encourage members to help plan and become part of the decision making process. Your input is encouraged to let us know how we are doing and where more attention needs to be focused. Volunteering helps the CORE group tremendously and is greatly appreciated. Some members have given me great ideas and would like to hear from more members. We look forward to another great year of activities. So lets get out there and enjoy them.
