Join Great Outdoors Palm Springs (GOPS) for another one of our 4x4 (off road) trips on Saturday, August 21, 2010!

Clark's Grade was built in the 1920's to provide auto access to the Big Bear Lake area. The route begins near Seven Oaks. We'll travel up Clark's Grade (1N54), along Skyline Drive (2N10), then down Radford Road (2N06) back to Hwy 38. This will encompass about 30 miles of 4x4 road ranging from easy to moderate. Once on the 4x4 road, there is no place to purchase lunch… so bring a lunch.

Distance about 200 miles round trip. The elevation ranges from about 6,000 feet to over 8,000 feet.

Meeting Sites:
   Petsmart Palm Springs Parking Lot - 8:15 am (Ramon & Crossley Roads, Palm Springs, CA)
   or
   Mill Creek Ranger Station (Hwy 38) - 9:45 am

NOTE: Passengers riding in other vehicles are requested to chip in for gas. Our recommended way is to divide the total cost of gas by the number of people in the 4x4 vehicle (including counting the driver).

Itinerary:
 8:15 am - Meet at Petsmart Parking Lot, Palm Springs
 8:30 am - Depart traveling west on I- 10 towards Redlands
 9:45 am - Regroup at Mill Creek Ranger Station (off hwy 38)
10:30 am - Begin ascent up Clark's Grade
 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm - begin return trip back to Petsmart

Drivers - please RSVP (let us know if you are coming) by Friday, August 20th. Also, let us know if you are willing to take any passengers with you.

Passengers - please RSVP no later than Wednesday, August 18th. We will attempt to match you up with a driver who has space available. Please do not show up at the meeting point unless we have contacted you confirming space is available.
