Description:
The Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail is the perfect leisurely hike. This trail is marked by gentle contours,
an occasional stream and a generous mix of Jeffrey, Ponderosa and Coulter Pines, with some cedar and fir.
The trail bears the name of a local Idyllwild resident, Ernie Maxwell, to honor his pioneering conservation
efforts and his love of the surrounding mountains.
Note: We will meet in front of Hunter’s as usual, but at 8:30 am.
Note: In the book “120 Great Hikes in and near Palm Springs” by Philip
Ferranti (click here), this hike #53 and is located on page 113 of the 2003 edition.
