The above picture was taken on our 5/28/2006 4x4 trip to Red Canyon. Click here to view it.

Description: We will access the Bradshaw Trail from the Dos Palmas Spring Road near the Salton Sea and travel east. From the Bradshaw Trail, we will continue to Chuckwalla Springs and Augustine Pass and exit on I-10. The route follows a narrow, winding road through the Chuckwalla Mountains (2,300 feet elevation), once a bustling gold-mining district dating back to the turn of the 20th century. There are outstanding vistas of the Chuckwalla and Chocolate Mountains.

This 4x4 is classified as easy to moderate. We have not scouted this route, so be aware and prepared if we encounter unexpected events. Bring plenty of water and a lunch.

This outing will be followed by a Pizza and Pool party.

RSVP requested.
