4x4 TRIP - MYSTERY DESTINATION(REVEALED)
BROOKLYN MINE

Notice: Effective October 1, 2004, a two dollar fee ($2) will be charged for all non members on day hikes, 4x4 outings and moonlight hikes.

Description: Join the Great Outdoors for another 4x4 (4 wheel drive) off-road adventure into the Old Dale Mining District along the Brooklyn Mine Trail.

Requirements: 4 WD with high clearance, off road tires, difficulty 5 (out of 10) at a few spots. Moderate difficulty rating: rough going, with embedded rocks and uneven trail surface, and shelf roads.

Points of Interest: Pinto Mountains to Brooklyn Mine, Gold Rose, the Rose of Peru, the Los Angeles Mines and Mission Mine. All of these mines have remains that are both substantial and photogenic.

We will stop at Loves Truck stop at I-10 Dillon Road for fuel and then to Joshua Tree National Park Cottonwood Visitor Center for a brief stop and check in with out park passes. Bring a lunch and water. Total mileage is approximately 150 miles. Sharing fuel expense is appreciated.

Drivers willing to accommodate additional passengers are requested to RSVP to the contact listed below. Passengers who call the contact listed below will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. It all depends upon how many additional 4x4 vehicles sign up. We will only assign 3 people to the smaller Jeep vehicles. This will leave room for carrying backpacks and supplies in the rear of the smaller vehicles.
