DAY HIKE - SPITLER CREEK

Notice: Effective October 1, 2004, a two dollar fee ($2) will be charged for all non members on day hikes, 4x4 outings and moonlight hikes.

Description: "This trail to Spitler Peak is the most direct route up the mountain, allowing the hiker to avoid lengthy sections of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) in an attempt to reach the peak. The views at the top show the panorama of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto mountains with glimpses of Palomar Range the south." from 120 Great Hikes in & near Palm Springs by Philip Ferranti. Car pool from Hunter’s - 45 miles to Lake Hemet near trail head. Note: If you have the book "120 Great Hikes in and near Palm Springs" by Philip Ferranti, this is hike # 66 and can be found on page 131 of the 2003 edition.
