Kayaking through Naples
July 22, 2006

This is the ever-popular paddle through the picturesque canals of Naples.  We'll rent our kayaks, give some quick instructions to the beginners, then paddle through the Rivo Alto and Naples canals.  Midway through our tour, we will grab some Starbucks or Jamba Juice at Marina Pacifica. After a little breather, we'll paddle through Alamitos Bay back to where we started.  After the paddle, we can have lunch tegether at a local restaurant.

No kayaking is experience necessary.  Beginners will be given all the instruction they need to learn how to paddle a kayak. Kayaks on the Water will rent a Perception Prism kayak to anyone who needs one. This will include a paddle and personal floatation device.  This will be a sit-on-top kayak, which are incredibly easy to learn to paddle and very stable on the water.  Rental rates are $7 per hour; after the first hour, the rental fee is prorated.  There is a $20 deposit in advance.  The trip will take about two and one-half hours.  There is no trip fee.  All G.O. members and nonmembers are invited.

We recommend Swim trunks/suit, lightweight short or long sleeve shirt, cap (or floppy hat with chin strap), sunscreen, sunglasses, waterproof footwear.

You can get directions and more details by checking out the Trip notes.
