Orange County Long Beach Chapter

Great Outdoors returns to Huntington Harbour with this autumn kayaking tour. If you enjoyed the spring trip, you won't want to miss this one. Huntington Harbour is known for its multi-million dollar waterfront residences. It's also home to some 3,500 yachts. Our tour also takes us to the verge of the Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge. This 920-acre salt marsh is home to several endangered species.  The salt marsh is closed to kayakers, but it is possible to paddle up to the margin of the marsh where the wildlife can be seen.

Beginning at Malibu Ocean Sports in Sunset Beach, we glide off the beach into the channel that takes us into the heart of Huntington Harbour.  In these calm and protected waters we paddle approximately one mile, arriving at Seabridge Park. We'll stop here for a light snack.  Rested and refreshed, we return to the water for a tour of the entrance channel and the wildlife refuge. We then paddle along Admiralty Island, having made the circuit of the western side of Huntington Harbour.

This trip is limited to just 12 Kayakers and is rated Beginner to Intermediate

Advanced Registration is Required. See the tripnotes for directions and other information.
