Come spend a relaxing weekend at the beach in south Orange County. San Clemente State Park is a pine tree covered park at the waters edge. We will have several campsites less than a quarter of a mile from the sand.  The park is close in for us so the travel should be less than an hour for most of us.

 

The campsites have picnic tables fire pits, the ground is level, and there are hot showers, running water and flush toilets.

 

The park is on a bluff overlooking the Pacific. Even though we are in a park within the city limits and you would not know it. There are miles of beaches to walk and the bike trail runs north and south as far as you wish to go.

 

Friday: We will begin arriving on Friday afternoon, after 12:00pm, set up camp. We will serve   refreshments during the late afternoon and evening.

 

Saturday: We will have beach trips, walks or bike rides on the path maybe do a trip into old San Clemente or just relax for the weekend.  Potluck dinner at 5:00 pm, bring your favorite dish.

 

What to bring: Two bundles of firewood, the evenings may be cool, so bring a sweater or light jacket. There is always a chance in the spring so bring the proper gear. For you tent bring a ground cloth for it so that any moisture will not wick up into it.If you play in the water make sure you have second set of foot wear. Sunscreen is a must at least an SPF of 25. The nighttime temperature should be in the 50’s so bring bedding accordingly.

 

Sunday: Rise as you please, have breakfast, check out is by noon.

 

Cost: $25.00 members, $30.00 non-members, parking is $5.00 per vehicle per day, car pooling is recommended.
